LZ Pepper - C Company Crash819 viewsBob Witt Photo
As I remember two or three ships crashed. The CO of Charlie Company, Maj. Burkhalter (?) was A/C of the first Ship. Can't remember who I was flying with, we took several hits and barely avoided a mid air with two Cobra's who turned into each other rolling hot on a 50 cal. that was working out on the flight. On final to the LZ the CP of the crashed ship was acting as ground guide, seems like he was a guy that was not well liked, anyway I believe he ended up with a Silver Star. After departing we landed at Aloui to check damage. Another day in the Valley.

Downed Helicopter Nov 67771 viewsDoc McBride Photo
From Bob Witt. "Doc Mcbride, Mike Sprayberry's medic at LZ Tiger, took these pictures on his return trip to Vietnam. He returned the A Shau to look for his unit's MIA's lost at Tiger. Doc fortunately survived serious wounds received on the road below Tiger on April 25, 1968. Mike Sprayberry received the MOH for going out that night to rescue Doc & the rest of his patrol. Their unit was on board for the first Combat Assault's into LZ Tiger."
