Note the 55 gallon drum with an immersion heater. In the evening, we’d fire up the heater. The first guys got a cold shower, the middle guys got a comfortable shower, the guys at the end got a hot shower or no shower at all.

The gun platoon pilots lived in a GM Medium tent – pretty roomy quarters for a small number of occupants. Before I joined the platoon, somebody constructed this hootch. At the time this picture was taken it was occupied by 2 short-timer WO’s. Later, Platoon Leader CPT Jack Watkins moved in. When he left, I moved in.
